Review: MAC Mascara

MAC Eye-make offers high quality long lasting eye-make up as well as a great selection of colours and styles.

Recently I have brought my first Mac Mascara, “False Lashes Extreme” and I’m pleased to say I would highly recommend it! The mascara wand is full and long which makes it easy to move across your eyelashes in just a few swipes. The large wand means it spreads your lashes out making them look fuller. The consistency of the mascara isn't too heavy and it is quite moist so I find it quickly covers all my lashes without blotching or clumping lashes together.  I’m lucky in that I have long dark lashes, so I only need to use about 3 full swipes on the tops of my eyelids and 2 along the bottom for daytime. If you have light or short lashes it might take a little bit more. For a more dramatic night look I also  like to apply more.

I prefer to use non-waterproof black, I find it stays on all day and night without smudging or running. (Make sure you use a good eye-make up remover to get it completely off later.)

Stolen Girlfriends Club at NZ Fashion Week 2014

This year’s New Zealand’s Fashion Week showcased the latest designs from an array of NZ fashion designers. Stolen Girlfriends Club hosted a couple of shows, their winter S2015 collection “The Guilty Ones” as well as a show open to the public, showcasing their summer 2014 collection.

The S214 Summer collection by Stolen Girlfriends Club didn't disappoint. The show opened with models wearing white coats, along with their latest summer eye-wear.

The line featured both Men & Women’s designs in a mix light and dark shades and patterns for summer. In true SGC style the collection was edgy and included plenty of wearable peace’s that would fit most body types. Some notable peace’s included; summer crop tops & skirts along and some lighter dresses for summer. These designs are already available on their website.

How to wear socks with boots

I've seen a few girls walking around rockin’ the socks with boots look – and I love it! It’s still pretty chilly outside here, so what better way to layer up and keep your feet extra warm.

Ankle boots look great with both mid-length socks and long socks visible out the top of the boots. For extra contrast scrunched socks down or wear them over tights. If you're wearing longer boots, its a good idea to make sure your socks are significantly longer then the boots.

Don’t be afraid to mix up colours and textures like lace wool socks.

Keeping it Red Hot in Winter

Nail polish is an obsession of mine, and just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you should let your hands suffer! Red Nail polish is a classic that you can’t go wrong with. Essie Nail Polish has a great range of reds; right now I’m loving the darker collection for winter, ‘Fishnet Stockings’,’ Poor lil’ Rich Girl’ and my favourite ‘Berry Naughty’.

It does take a little more preparation than other brands, as the colours build with more coats, so you’ll need to do 2-3 layers depending on the colour you want, but I think the glossy finish makes it worth the extra effort.
